Wondering what is still SNAP eligible under the recent changes? Our CEO Celia Cole spoke with WFAA Dallas about what to look out for when shopping under the new SNAP purchase restrictions.
These new restrictions mean that all candy and many sweetened drinks will no longer be SNAP eligible. Texas SNAP users will still be able to purchase a wide variety of diet staples, including milk and Pedialyte. 🚨 Starting April 1, new SNAP purchase restrictions will be in effect in Texas! 🚨
Candy and most sweetened drinks will no longer be SNAP eligible. All candy, including nuts, fruit or raisins that have been candied, crystalized r coated with chocolate, yogurt or caramel, will be ineligible for SNAP purchases. Drinks containing more than 5 grams of added sugar or any amount of artificial sweetener will be ineligible for SNAP purchases. These changes will apply to all Texas SNAP recipients.
