Samina Inclusive IBS Dietitian
I had the honor of speaking at the Bloom Care launch event for an honest conversation on postpartum recovery 💚
And one thing kept coming up again and again:
🤰🏻 Postpartum moms are carrying SO much.
Healing
Feeding a baby
Sleep deprivation
Hormone shifts
Digestive changes
Learning a completely new identity
And somehow, they’re also expected to “bounce back”?
🙅🏽♀️ No thanks
We talked about what postpartum recovery actually looks like through a holistic lens:
✨ Why healing requires fuel
✨ Why carbs are important postpartum (yes, really)
✨ Easy ways to support energy when you’re exhausted
✨ Bloating + constipation tips that actually feel realistic
✨ Why convenience foods absolutely count
One of my favorite reminders from the panel:
Energy comes from calories, not caffeine.
And another:
You cannot heal a depleted body without fuel.
If you’re postpartum and struggling to nourish yourself, this is your reminder that nutrition does not have to be perfect to matter.
Sometimes nourishment looks like a rotisserie chicken, microwave rice, soup, frozen fruit in a smoothie, or snacks stashed everywhere because survival mode is real.
🫶🏽 Healing > bouncing back. Every single time.

Bloating is one of the most common digestive complaints I see as a GI dietitian, but there’s so much misinformation online about what actually helps and makes things worse!
Here’s what I wish more people knew:✨ Not all fiber is created equal ✨ Constipation is often a major contributor to bloating✨ Increasing fiber too quickly can backfire ✨ Feeling full after a meal is not the same thing as bloating✨ Sometimes a 5–10 minute “fart walk” really can help 😌
One thing I talk about with clients all the time is that for IBS and sensitive digestive systems, choosing the right type of fiber matters.
Gentle soluble fibers like psyllium husk are often better tolerated than highly fermentable fibers.
This is one reason I like low FODMAP-friendly options like lemon ginger psyllium husk for people looking to support regularity without making symptoms worse. * use code SAMINA for 10% off* https://www.gofiberwild.com/?ref=SAMINA
If bloating, constipation, or digestive symptoms are making food feel stressful or confusing, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
