❄🏠Here comes chillier weather! Winter is no joke, especially for our beloved elderly family members who may feel the cold a tad more than us. So, how can we make our homes winter-ready for them? Check this out!⤵️

1️⃣Heat things up🔥: Make sure your heating system works efficiently. Consider investing in a smart thermostat for easy temperature adjustments. Drafty windows or doors? Seal them up!

2️⃣Light it up💡: Shorter days and gloomy weather can make it difficult for the elderly to see. Improve indoor lighting and consider motion-sensor lights for their safety.

3️⃣ Non-Slip Solutions🚫👣: Use non-slip mats in icy areas, grab bars in the bathroom, and ensure carpets and rugs are secured to prevent any nasty falls.

4️⃣Stock Up🥫: Always have enough food, water, and medical supplies on hand in case of a snow-in.

5️⃣Emergency Plans🆘: Create an emergency plan for bad weather situations. Make sure it’s easily accessible and everyone is familiar with it.
