It’s Pentecost Sunday and all are invited to wear red to worship this Sunday. We hear the traditional reading from Acts 2:1-21. Pastor Teresa is preaching and the choral anthem is “Bring Down the Fire” by Marty Haugen. We celebrate the baptisms of Alex Compton and Annisha Mackenzie and welcome them into membership along with Don Barlow and Leanna Lam.

Some of our congregational singing celebrates the diversity of the Christian family with hymns including “O-So-So/Come Now, O Prince of Peace” (Korean), and “Saranam” (Pakistani meaning “refuge”), appropriate for both celebrating the diversity of languages at Pentecost and also Asian American Pacific Islander month. We will also join United Methodists all around the world in contributing to a special offering called “Miracle Sunday” initiative, which adds funds to The Endowment for Theological Education in Africa, Europe and the Philippines.
