Stress levels may rise, making it difficult to figure out next steps for survivors and their families. In addition to the supportive techniques listed in this post, external supports like the Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) provide emotional support to survivors of disaster. Summer is for sunshine, block parties, and community connection. But as we open our homes, it's more critical than ever to ensure they remain safe havens.

"Keeping Austin Weird" should also mean keeping Austin safe. When you practice responsible safe storage, you are part of a movement protecting the next generation.

1️⃣ ASK: Before your child goes on a playdate, ask if there are fi****ms in the home and if they are stored safely. Normalize the conversation!

3️⃣ SEPARATE: Ammunition must be stored away from the locked firearm.

📆 Save The Date! Integral Care will be hosting a free, virtual Mental Health First Aid training on Friday, June 26, 2026. This training module will be for Youth MHFA.

Mental Health First Aid gives people the tools they need to be present for friends, family, colleagues, and community members. This particular module will include information to best support youth and young adults aged 12-18 and 18-25 who may be in the early stages of a mental health problem or experiencing a crisis.
