Last year, I visited Northern Portugal and completely fell in love with the region. The energy of Porto, the canals of Aveiro, the history of Braga and Guimarães, and the breathtaking vineyards of the Douro Valley. I knew I wanted to bring a group back to experience it together.

This 8-night journey blends beautiful cities, incredible food and wine, and time to slow down and truly soak in the landscape. Think wandering Porto’s cobblestone streets, tasting Port in historic cellars, drifting through Aveiro’s canals, exploring medieval towns, and spending three nights in the Douro Valley with vineyard lunches, a private river cruise, and spa time overlooking the river.

What does a room actually look like at Hotel Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres?

Launched in 2020, then closed for the next 2 years, this virtually brand new 5-star all-inclusive resort is nestled on a stunning white-sand beach in postcard-perfect Costa Mujeres.

I recently visited this gorgeous resort and toured the Privileged Suite, the Privileged Grand Family Suite, and the Privileged Romance to give you a real glimpse into what to expect.

Overall I was very impressed with the suites, and appreciate the thoughtful details and features in each category.

For example:
- Each suite is a true suite, meaning there is a separate living room area in each one.
- Walk-in closets providing ample space for everyone's stuff.
- Locks on balcony doors are high up, far from little ones' reach (simple, yet so important!)
- Family suites that sleep up to 4 kids comfortably!
- Romance suites with luxurious baths, plunge-pools and total privacy with ocean views
