one great reminder, especially for all mothers out there that do.things.all.the.time

“We have a tendency to think in terms of doing and not in terms of being. We think that when we are not doing anything, we are wasting our time. But that is not true. Our time is first of all for us to be. To be what? To be alive, to be peaceful, to be joyful, to be loving. And that is what the world needs most.”
Thich Nhat Hanh

Gustav Klimt - The Three Ages of Woman (Mother and Child), 1905.

One question birth doulas often receive during prenatal visits is “should I write a birth plan? And if so, what should be on it?” Your birth plan should be unique to YOU. And your doula can help you customize preferences and outline hopes and desires for your birth, all while helping guide you through the process of surrendering to the plan your birth has for you 💓

This topic came up a lot last week ... birth plan. In general , yes it's a good idea to have one, especially in case if birthing process moves fast. Keep in mind, this is your vision, you as a mother have 100% right to set your boundaries and expectations of people that hold space for you Also remember that sometimes, things can unfold differently than expected. Allow a lot of grace for the whole process. https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ4rPysFXKh/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Pregnant moms are more open to consider home-birth these days. If you are expecting and want o learn more, reach out to your local midwives, solo practitioners or groups, and doulas. There is a growing community supporting homebirths.
" Home-based midwifery can show us how to safely untether low-risk birth care from hospital settings. We call upon providers and payers to urgently adapt our health systems to incorporate home birth as an option. This would decompress hospitals when they need it most and may even improve birth outcomes”
