ATX Robotic Surgery
πLetβs take a peek inside the OR π
Open surgery is what most people picture - surgeons working together over a sterile field (like in Greyβs Anatomy)
With robotic-assisted surgery, your surgeon is still in complete control. They use modern, advanced instruments from a console for enhanced precision, visualization, and control.
π€ The robot does not operate on its own.
π· Your surgeon guides every movement.
π―The goal is smaller incisions, greater precision, and a smoother recovery for many patients.
πΉοΈTechnology supports what our board-certified surgeons do.
πCompassion guides our care.

Insurance 101: What Is Prior Authorization?
If youβre planning surgery, your insurance company may require prior authorization before your procedure.
That simply means your insurer wants to review the medical information first to decide whether the surgery meets their coverage guidelines (unless itβs an emergency).
Hereβs what to remember:
β Itβs required by your insurance plan
β Every plan is different
β It may take several days (or longer)
β It is not a guarantee of payment
Our team works closely with insurance carriers to help submit the necessary paperwork and determine whether authorization is required for your procedure.
Weβre here to make the process smoother β and to answer your questions along the way.

Insurance 101 β Part 2: What Is a Co-Pay?
A co-pay is a set dollar amount you pay for a healthcare service β typically collected when you receive care.
While every insurance plan is different, co-pays often apply to:
β Office visits
β Specialist consultations
β Certain outpatient services
Keep in mind:
A co-pay does not usually replace your deductible or coinsurance for surgical procedures.
At ATX Robotic Surgery, financial clarity is part of our mission of patient-centered care. Our team will work with your insurance company to help estimate what you may owe before your procedure.
If you ever have questions about your benefits, weβre here to help you navigate them.

β€οΈ Why might my surgeon request cardiac clearance before surgery? β€οΈ
Cardiac clearance is a common and important part of surgical planning for some patients. It allows us to confirm that your heart can safely tolerate anesthesia and surgery. π
You may be asked to obtain cardiac clearance if you:
β Have a known heart condition (such as coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, or heart failure)
β Have had prior cardiac surgery or procedures
β Take blood thinners or medications that increase bleeding risk
β Have certain medical risk factors based on age or health history
𧑠This step is not about delaying care β itβs about protecting you and providing valuable information to your surgeon, anesthesiologist, and the other members of your health care team.
π©΅ At ATX Robotic Surgery, we work closely with cardiologists and other members of your health care team in an effort to keep you safe throughout the entire process.
If you have questions or concerns, please donβt hesitate to reach out. Your health is our priority.
