“The spider is a repairer. If you bash into the web of a spider, she doesn’t get mad. She weaves and repairs it.” -Louise Bourgeois 🕷️🕸️🖤

Bourgeois was a French-American artist, known for her large scale sculptures and installations. Throughout her prolific career (over 60 years!) she featured various motifs, such as spirals and spiders, the latter represented her mother who was a weaver.

We recently added a book on Bourgeois called Spirals - come check it out! UT is also lucky enough to have a Bourgeois sculpture on campus, Eyes. Head to Landmarks, The Public Art Program of The University of Texas at Austin for more information
