DARE TO DREAM.💫

As you walk through The Community Center, you’ll notice a hallway lined with the beautiful faces of incredible young people.

They’re not models.
They’re not celebrities.
They’re youth who have experienced foster care and dared to dream.

Each year, we host an Entrepreneur Workshop for youth in our Dare to Dream® program. Over the course of a semester, they learn how to develop a business idea, build a pitch, strengthen their confidence, and present themselves professionally.

At the end of the workshop, each youth receives a gift card to purchase an outfit for presentation day. They have professional headshots taken. Then they stand in front of a room full of adults and confidently pitch their business idea.

It’s one of my favorite things we do.

I often say these young people are like potted plants.

Give them rich soil.
Give them water.
Give them sunlight.
Give them someone who believes in them.
And they bloom.

You can literally watch their confidence grow from the first day of class to the last. Shoulders back. Heads held high. Dreams getting bigger.

That’s why we chose to line this hallway with their faces.

Because before you enter the Dare to Dream Learning Lab, we want you to see what is possible.

We want every young person who walks these halls to know👇

You are capable.
You are gifted.
You are worthy of investment.
And your future is bigger than your past.

These portraits are more than decorations. They are a reminder to every child, volunteer, mentor, donor, and staff member who passes by:
