The planetary archetypes are a really important part of hand reading that is often overlooked. A lot of people think of hand reading as looking at the lines ~only~ but there is so much more to it than that.

The developed areas of the hand correspond to the developed areas of the mind, thus describing the personality of the individual.

A lot of people have two or three planetary mounts more developed than the others. There are seven total: Jupiter, Saturn, Sun, Mercury, Mars, Moon, Venus. Traditional palm reading uses the personal planets, not the outer ones.

You can learn basic measurements to discover which of yours are prominent. This is a little snapshot of a diagram I made a few years ago.
