Ian is an Austin, TX-based percussionist, musical director and non-profit executive director. His Texas-state non-profit and performing ensemble, has been providing varied enrichment programs for over 7 years to the Austin area. Ian has played with many artists and was nominated for two Grammys as musical director of Tortilla Factory under Tony "Ham" Guerrero.

He is a substitute with the Austin Symphony, has stage-managed their youth performances for the last five years not including 2020, co-wrote Luis Conte's Guide to Latin Percussion and released an online video course used at the University of Texas at Austin, received an award for playing with Conga San Pedrito in carnaval in Santiago de Cuba 2018, played with Conga San Augustín in 2019 and more
