Body Compass

If you've ever found yourself reading the books, booking the therapy, sending the articles, and hoping something finally lands in hi —
This is for you. 🌿
There's a pattern that shows up in so many of the women I work with. They are the ones holding the relational container. Tracking the emotional temperature. Initiating the conversations. Doing the reaching.
And they are exhausted.
Not because they don't love their partner. They love them completely. But somewhere along the way, loving completely started to mean doing it all.
Here's what I want you to hear: overfunctioning isn't love. It's anxiety with good intentions.
When you overfunction, your partner doesn't have to feel the gap. They don't have to reckon with what's missing, because you're already filling it. You're so busy managing the relationship that neither of you gets to find out what would happen if you stopped. 🌿
And the hardest part? It often looks like you're the committed one. The one who cares more. The one keeping things together.
But what it's actually doing is keeping both of you from the truth of where you are.
Your partner has their own work to do. That work belongs to them. And no amount of your effort, insight, or love can do it for them — it can only delay the moment they have to meet it themselves.
Letting go of the overfunctioning isn't giving up on your relationship. It's finally giving it a chance to be real. ðŸ§
If this is landing somewhere in your body right now, I'd love for you to explore what it looks like to put your own compass first.
