Reiki is an energy healing technique in which a Reiki Practitioner, who has undergone formal training in this healing art, uses gentle hand movements with the intention to guide the flow of healthy energy (what's known in Reiki as life force energy) through the client's body to reduce stress and promote healing.

Our AMAZING therapist, Riley, has such an open, empathetic, genuine and comforting aura…we’re so excited to be adding her healing art to our menu at ONYX!

Cupping! A favorite amongst deep tissue body workers…but what exactly does it do? When should someone include cupping into their self-care routine?

Cupping works by creating a vacuum and pulling tissues up and away from the skeletal system. This increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed to relieve fascia and muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cellular detoxification & repair. This ancient practice aids in loosening adhesions, detoxification of bodily systems [think lymphatic, circulatory & muscular] rejuvenate circulation and promote deep relaxation.

Cupping can be beneficial for most people, however, those with bleeding or clotting disorders should check with their healthcare provider before receiving cupping.

Most of our clients who show interest in cupping have been searching for relief overall “body-tightness” & the techniques performed with the cups can vary from person to person. We use plastic or silicone cups which may stay stationary or be slid across the skin in a “gliding” fashion to realign muscle fibers and release fascia “stickies” (super profesh term)
