This years theme of the Met Gala was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” and while some adoringly refer to the gala as “fashions biggest night” we were left wondering who is the Met Gala really for?

Did you know most if not all of the overly expensive gowns and looks worn by celebrities are rented? All of these designers will allow celebrities to borrow these beautiful ornate gowns, and yet no mention of sustainable fashion anywhere on the red carpet.

It’s “fashions biggest night” and yet no mention of the small communities, the women, the seamstress that tirelessly work on these gowns.

What’s happening in Palestine is NOT complicated; it’s called settler colonialism and ethnic cleansing. And in 2021 we should all be apalled that we have allowed for it to happen.
