Trying to choose between Lakeway and Westlake? Here’s what I’d be thinking about:

🌊 Lake lifestyle vs. city convenience: If you want to spend weekends on Lake Travis, at the marina, or golfing, Lakeway is hard to beat. If you want to be closer to downtown Austin, Westlake has the edge.

🏡 More space vs. a closer-in location. Lakeway often offers larger lots and more square footage for your budget, while Westlake puts you closer to Austin’s restaurants, shopping, and nightlife.

🚗 Your daily drive. If you’re commuting into downtown several days a week, Westlake can save you a lot of time. If you work remotely or spend most of your time around the Lake Travis area, Lakeway may make more sense.

🌳 Community feel. Lakeway has a laid-back, resort-style atmosphere centered around the lake, golf, and outdoor recreation. Westlake feels more established, upscale, and closely connected to Austin.

🎓 Schools. Both are known for excellent schools, but Lakeway is primarily served by Lake Travis ISD, while Westlake is largely served by Eanes ISD – two of the most sought-after districts in Central Texas.

Neither is “better,” they’re just different. The right choice depends on the lifestyle you want.
