If you are working in a hot environment, make sure to take care of your people too! Provide water, otter pops, electrolytes, and such, and make sure they get breaks. Make a water bottle part of the uniform!
When it comes to exercising outdoors in this heat, always shoot for early morning or later afternoon when the temperature drops to a safer degree! (I have actually witnessed people pass out while they’re riding a bike or jogging at high noon.)
Inspire Hike Day Tip: it’s HOT! The earlier you can get on the trail the better you can avoid heat illness. And always bring lots of water!
If you’re sweating a lot in this heat, you’re losing sodium. It’s not a bad idea to put a little bit of table salt on your food to replace this. It will help combat heat cramps.
Here comes the heat, kiddies! That will be our focus for the time being so keep watching for our tips, and in the meantime, HYDRATE! That’s your number one weapon!
