This week, members of the AMTA Maine Chapter are heading to the State House to proudly represent the massage therapy profession and advocate for the creation of a Massage Therapy Practice Act in Maine.

Why does this matter?

A Practice Act helps ensure:

✔ Fraud prevention
✔ Clear education standards
✔ Regulatory clarity
✔ Professional integrity

Massage therapists play an important role in the health and wellness of our communities. It’s time for Maine to have clear statutory standards that support both the public and the professionals who serve them.

We look forward to meeting with legislators, sharing our expertise, and continuing important conversations about strengthening our profession across the state.
