She watched as Bean left. Then the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months and Nadia kept showing up — sweet, gentle, patient — trusting that her moment was coming.

Nadia (now Tilly) has been adopted by her foster family. The people who opened their home to her when she was still learning what safety felt like.

The people who watched her blossom from a shy, uncertain street dog from Guadalajara into the gentle, loving soul she has always been.

They saw her. Completely. And they could not let her go.

This is the most beautiful kind of foster fail — the kind where a temporary home becomes a forever one because some bonds simply cannot be undone.

My girl — you waited with more grace than most of us could ever manage. And you ended up exactly where you always belonged.

To her forever family — thank you for seeing her the way she deserved to be seen. Thank you for choosing her again and again. She is going to love you for the rest of her life and then some.

We need to talk about those ears first because honestly everything else — as wonderful as it is — comes second to those ears.

Meet Simba. A puppy who is going to grow into a medium to large sized dog with the most magnificent ears you have ever seen in your life. We are talking ears so spectacular you could make a turban with them. Ears so gloriously oversized they could hide those precious eyes completely if they wanted to. Ears that arrived before the rest of him caught up and have absolutely no intention of apologizing for it. 😄

But here is the thing about Simba — those ears are just the beginning.

He has been ready for his forever home for a few weeks now. Patiently waiting. Quietly trusting. Holding onto the belief that somewhere out there is a person who will choose him completely — and having chosen him, will never abandon him again. Not under any circumstances. Not ever.
Because Simba has been abandoned before. And he deserves someone who understands the weight of that — and chooses him anyway. Every single day. Forever.
