Our sweet girl, Ginger... πŸ’•

This October, Ginger will reach a milestone that breaks our hearts... πŸ’”
Three years...Three years of watching dogs and cats arrive at Paws N Claws. Three years of watching hundreds of them leave with families of their own. Three years of wondering when it will finally be her turn.
After more than 1,000 days in a kennel, it's no surprise that Ginger has become protective of the shelter and the people she loves. This is the only home she's truly had for all these years. The only family she's had.
But here's what we've learned...
Ginger isn't a "bad" dog.
She just needs someone willing to slow down and get to know her. We've discovered safe, successful ways to introduce her to new people, and once she trusts you, she's an INCREDIBLE companion. Want to know one of the quickest ways to her heart?! πŸ˜†
🎾 Throw a ball.
That's it! Toss her favorite toy, spend a little time with her, and you'll start to see the goofy, loyal girl that's been hidden behind kennel walls.
She has done wonderfully with our house cats and has been fantastic in our large dog playgroups. However, she would do best in a home without small dogs. We will always recommend meet and greets prior to adoption.

Ginger's ideal home would be quiet and predictable. She isn't looking for a house with people constantly coming and going. She thrives with routine, structure, and a calm environment where she can finally relax and just be someone's dog.πŸ₯Ή

She deserves mornings spent chasing tennis balls, evenings curled up beside her person, and a family who looks at her like she's the best part of their day. πŸ’•

We aren't giving up on Ginger. We never will.
But this isn't the life she deserves.

If you've ever believed in second chances... if you've ever thought the dogs that take a little extra time are worth it... please come meet Ginger. Give her the opportunity so many others have had. πŸ’—

She doesn't need everyone.
She just needs one person to say, "You're finally home."

Please share Ginger's story. Her person might be on your friends list. ❀️🐾

We love you, tootsie roll, cinnamon bun, gingy, or more commonly known as, Ginger... ☺️
