This summer, i got an unexpected invite to be a part of the annual Art Party. At that time, i hadn’t made a new item in God knows how long. I was quite uninspired by the brand if I’m being real. One thing about me, if challenged, i will figure it out and i wasn’t about to tell “no”. The event went well and they asked me to extend to a short term residency until October. My summer schedule was crazy, but again, no way I’m declining. I spent many Saturdays in the space looking at the art, meeting the incredible artists and all the guests coming to take advantage of the free admission. I got a chance to meet many of you who stopped by, made a purchase, provided words of affirmation or simply vented about how your family, too sold the family home. I loved every single moment of it. Well, except the regular load ins, but i eventually got a rhythm.

This partnership was more nourishing than i ever could have imagined. I learned things about myself and direction that I’ve been trying to figure out for the last 5 years.

Thank you to every one that stopped by. Those that helped me when i didn’t know how i would get it all done ( .i.s.h.a.e ) to and - thank you for handling the creative community with so much care.

I look forward for more opportunities to spotlight many of Atlanta’s unsung heroes, untold stories and overlooked talent specifically amongst black women. There’s so much more to do and I’m recharged.
