An Olympic legacy. A vision for Atlanta's future.

On Monday, July 6, Atlanta Track Club CEO Rich Kenah met with residents of Summerhill and surrounding neighborhoods to share our vision for a future indoor track and field center.

First introduced in Atlanta Track Club's strategic plan, the proposed center would be located at Cheney Stadium, the surviving 1996 Olympic warmup track, and create a year-round home for track and field, youth programming and community events while preserving an important piece of Atlanta's Olympic history.

Olympian Gail Devers, who trained on this very track before winning gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games shared stories from her journey and reminded us why preserving this legacy matters.

Throughout the summer, Atlanta Track Club will continue listening to residents and gathering feedback to help shape a space that serves Summerhill, Atlanta Public Schools and the entire Atlanta community.
