On July 6, the en banc Eleventh Circuit held in Henry v. Sheriff of Tuscaloosa County, Alabama that the Fourteenth Amendment protects parents’ fundamental right to live with their children—regardless of prior convictions. Caplan Cobb LLC partners Jarred Klorfein and Cameron Roberts filed an amicus brief on behalf of the Southern Center for Human Rights, arguing that constitutional liberty belongs to all people, regardless of class, status, or prior convictions. The Eleventh Circuit agreed.
