It is with great sadness that we share the news about the passing of ATL FA Duane Ortego.

Additionally, we wanted to share the message below from Duane's son, Cameron. Please continue to keep Cameron, Aaron, Olivia (granddaughter) and everyone who loved Duane in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Dear Atlanta,

It is with a very heavy heart that I personally have to share.

My father, my best friend, Duane Ortego, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

He was born June 26, 1956. Today would have been his 70th birthday. My world, and the whole world, has just become darker. If you knew him, you know this to be true. The "old buzzard," which he affectionately called himself, loved his life and his two sons, and even more so his grandbaby girl.

If you grieve, grieve for those left behind, because I know my father is home now, with his family in heaven. No more pain, no more suffering in this cruel, judgmental, unforgiving world. He walks the streets paved with gold. He always said to me, almost daily, "I love you, I'm proud of you, and I'm honored to be your father." But truly, it was an honor to be his son.

In honor of Women’s History Month, ATL Inflight proudly partnered with Out&Proud@SWA and Women@SWA ERG’s to give back to our community in a meaningful way.

Together, we collected and assembled hygiene kits that were donated to the Atlanta Mission – My Sister’s House, supporting women and children in need. In addition to our donations, our team had the privilege of serving lunch to the residents, creating an opportunity to connect, uplift, and show care beyond the kits themselves.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and generosity to make this initiative possible. It’s through moments like these that we continue to reflect the heart of service and compassion within our community.
