Not One More Life

Racial hate persists. Trump and his ilk passively and overtly fan the flames of persistent hate and racism!

Take a moment to take this in. On this day, 64 years ago, six-year-old Ruby Bridges became the first Black student to attend an all-white elementary school in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This remarkable woman is not ancient history. She is 70 years old. The hate she fought then is still with us now. A reminder that we are not done, we must not quit, and that change is yet possible.

So very proud to have served as Brigade Surgeon, 2nd Brigade, 1rst Infantry Division in Desert Storm. I was head of Medical support at the cease fire following the unconditional surrender of Iraqi forces in Safwan, Iraq. The observant among you will note my 9 mm side arm is rapped in cloth as I am standing with General Schwartzkoff. I hated to clean the weapon which was a neccesity given the sand. I figured if we needed me to actually fire it, we were in big trouble.
I was honored to serve with real soldiers in the greatest military in the world.
