One of the studios where I'll be teaching this fall is where my own story began.
Years ago, I took my very first jewelry class as an adult at Spruill Center for the Arts. I had no idea what I was doing. I just knew I wanted to learn.
This August, I'll be back at Spruill teaching Beginning Jewelry & Metalsmithing—six Friday mornings, in the same place where I once sat as a student. (More classes posting soon)
I'll also be teaching at the Metal Arts Guild of Georgia in Tucker with several classes this season, and at Ignite Jewelry Studios in Asheville for a one-day Flush Setting workshop on August 30.
Three studios.
Three opportunities to learn.
Three rooms where someone will discover they can make something with their own hands.
If you've ever wanted to learn to make jewelry—or return to a creative part of yourself—I would love to have you there.

There are some colors you choose because they're beautiful.
And then there are colors that seem to choose you.
I've always been fascinated by the stories gemstones carry—their history, the meanings people have given them over centuries, and the way a single color can make us feel something before we can explain why.
Amazonite has long been associated with calm, courage, and honest communication. Whether that's because of the stone itself or simply the soothing shade of aqua is yours to decide.
I don't think you have to believe in the metaphysical to appreciate the ritual of choosing something intentionally.
Sometimes a color is enough.
What color have you been drawn to lately?

Summer always brings back memories of my childhood. The longer days, the slower mornings, the permission to just go. The idea of a day with zero agenda — that ease, that complete absorption in a moment without managing it — feels so close and so foreign at the same time.
These are some of my favorite summertime activities — good rain or shine.

What do you feel when you see yellow?
For me it's instant. Joy before you even have time to think about it. Yellow doesn't ask permission — it just shows up and reminds you that happiness is already there.
This is the fourth in our color series — yellow opal, the stone of joy and creativity.
Yellow opal. The stone of joy.

Summer solstice is here.
The longest day of the year. The beginning of summer. A moment when the light lingers a little longer.
Symbolically, it marks a peak. A reminder of what's been growing, what wants your attention, and what may be asking for a different kind of care.
It's easy to move right past it.
But what if you paused for a moment and listened?
Have you felt a pull toward change? A desire to slow down? A tug to show up differently? A need for guidance through something difficult?
This is the time to find a word.
Not a goal. Not a resolution.
A single word that helps you return to yourself.
A word to guide you through what's next.
