I’ve been working towards a looser, more painterly style for a few years now, but often halfway through a piece I will revert to my comfort zone of heavy lines and a tons of detail. On this piece though, I managed to keep it loose without over-working things and I think it captures the essence of the place better. BTW - Image was inspired and referenced from a trip to Lake Winfield Scott (Suches, GA) in late summer a few years ago when the water level was low and the area was marshy.
