How is affordable housing changing in Atlanta? Just look at Bowen Homes. Bowen Homes was the last major public housing project built in Atlanta. Now, a $700 million-plus effort is underway to redevelop the site.

Progress continues at Sylvan Hills II.

Here’s a quick construction update on the site:

✔️ Backfilling of stormwater detention lines is underway, with underground storm infrastructure currently being installed
✔️ The blast wall around the generator has been completed, and fencing installation is in progress
✔️ Site grading activities continue as work moves forward

Sylvan Hills II is the second phase of the former Sylvan Circle Apartments redevelopment and will bring 233 newly constructed affordable family apartments to Southwest Atlanta, including a mix of efficiency, one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes designed for families of varying sizes.
