Honored to be quoted in , in an article about decorating rules you can officially stop following.
My contribution: a home packed with antiques and heirlooms can quietly become a time capsule. Every piece deserves to be seen, and that doesn’t happen when everything is competing at the same frequency.
The fix isn’t editing out the old. It’s pairing it with something unexpected. An Art Deco bar cart next to a clean-lined midcentury sofa. A Brutalist concrete lamp beside a gilded Regency mirror. The contrast is what makes each piece legible again.

I always say lighting makes or breaks a room. So the Kichler booth tour with did not disappoint.

Second Designhounds pick: . The Tenon pendant with its black walnut accents and lacquered brass finish is the kind of piece that reads as intentional from every angle. And that chandelier with the curved arms and saucer cups? Sculptural in the best way.

Real materials make a difference. You can always tell.

Spent the morning at the and I’m still thinking about everything I saw. Huge thanks to the ladies of the for letting me tag along. There’s something wonderful about walking through a showhouse with realtors who truly appreciate good design and understand how it transforms a space.
The plaster work throughout the house was amazing. Walls and ceilings finished with that level of craftsmanship add the kind of depth and texture that makes a real difference in how a space feels. It’s one of those details that elevates everything around it.
And that basement mural? Absolute showstopper. It’s a perfect example of why every room deserves thoughtful design. No space should be treated as an afterthought.
But completely stole the show with a French vintage white deer mount that I can’t believe I didn’t photograph. Classic and unexpected at the same time, which is exactly what I love about mixing eras and styles.
Seeing how these designers work within traditional Atlanta style while pushing it forward is genuinely inspiring.
