55 years ago, John Portman and Portman Architects built the world's first contemporary atrium hotel on Peachtree Street in the heart of his hometown. It was controversial and unconventional, but groundbreaking. When it opened in 1967, people lined up around the block just to get a look inside. And it's still inspiring guests & visitors every day.
