We reached our first heat wave of the summer earlier this month, and safety is especially urgent for those experiencing homelessness.
Cooling centers offering relief will be open throughout the summer to provide life-saving resources for those in need.

We use technology to make the housing search process more efficient.💻
Why? Before Open Doors, non-profit organizations were spending hours searching for housing options for members of their community, and property management companies were facing barriers to supporting them.
Our technology allows us to efficiently connect clients to housing, and allows property partners to manage cases through our Property Portal.
The goal is simple: faster, more equitable access to housing.

While searching for a landlord to accept his voucher, Navy Veteran Anthony Owens was facing unemployment and living in a temporary shelter.
After meeting a member of our team at a Veterans Surge event, we helped Anthony navigate the housing process and secured multiple approved options for an apartment of his own.
We also connected him with supportive resources that helped him find secure a job, and the Home Depot LOVE Fund stepped in to cover his move-in costs.
Anthony’s story reflects why coordinated housing support is essential for those who have served our country.

This number includes adults, children and over 100 Veterans. Behind each of them is a story of resilience, and a renewed path forward.

“We need to know what it feels like… when the basic security of a home is always just out of reach.”
This reflection from Pulitzer Prize winner Brian Goldstone on Atlanta’s growing “hidden homeless” crisis speaks to what we see every day.
Too many people are working full-time and unable to afford stable housing - caught in the widening gap between income and rent.

In 2025, 60% of the 506 households we placed into housing were considered high-barrier.
What does this mean?
More than half of the households were facing more than one barrier to housing including things like poor credit, past evictions, or past-due balances, that too often stand in the way of stable housing.
By partnering with landlords, leveraging flexible funding, and providing individualized support, we help remove those barriers and bring families home.
