About last night. The fundraiser will continue until July 4th. It was kicked off with a dedication to Dr Opal Lee and the stage play honoring her “Opal’ Walk to Freedom” was presented as a donation gift to participants who gave funds. There were phenomenal performances by some of ATL dopest spoken word artists, musicians and performers. We also officially received the works of Dr. Frederick Hall, Jr. into our permanent archive collection. Special guests included Baba Afemo Omilami Afemo Omilami and his lovely wife Queen Elizabeth Omilami Elisabeth Omilami , musical composer Walter Bland and Dan Vargas founder of Univision/Telemundo just to name a few. The kick off was a great success. We want to thank our board members Byron Saunders for moving the fundraiser forward and Dr. Clarissa Myrick Harris White and her husband Dr. Ray White for their generous donation. Thank you to our own special events (It’s a Vibe) Queen queentara asia --> she a poet for bringing the awesome performances to the APEX. Our team, Kyler Winston-Kendricks, Vanya Kendricks, BIAnca Moller did a fantastic job of coordinating the atmosphere. And finally, special thanks to Kira mamakira_soulkitchen1 for bringing soul food in tapas style to the event that fed our guests.
