💿On This Day in 2013, Daft Punk released their landmark album "Random Access Memories" to widespread acclaim. Their fourth studio album took eight years of hard work, and brought with it a game-changing sound. It's success made the album Daft Punk's first US chart topper. Known for their use of sampling, the band decided to take a new direction on this album. The songs would feature samples, but every sample used in the production was recorded directly for use on the album. Recording sessions often involved inviting in legendary musicians to just "jam" and play their instruments, with the robotic duo cutting the performances into samples for the final track. This approach led to a great amount of control over the quality of the recording of every element in each track, and the high production value captured the attention of the audiophile hobby.
