Eleven years ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed the freedom to marry for same-sex couples nationwide in the ‘Obergefell’ decision. Since then, marriage equality has become deeply integrated into American life – across government, business, health care, and the economy. Millions of Americans have been positively impacted by the freedom to marry, and hundreds of thousands of families (including couples, children, parents, grandparents and extended families) rely on the clarity and the legal and social protection of marriage.
