So excited to find a nest of fledulings on the porch of my gran's house. I loved imagining them building the nest from mud from the creek and moss and the thin wisps of silver that they had collected.

The world's grief is daunting. Especially in this moment. Honestly, it has been since I first printed this poster in 2022. The people of Gaza are deperately fighting for their lives. Trans kids and the parents who respectfully raise them are under attack. Black lives are still under attack. Capitalism demands that we plod along, feeding lives to the machine. The grief and loss and rage are daunting.
This bit of Jewish wisdom from the Pirkei Avot makes doing the work to repair the world feel more possible. Because of the rabbinical tradition of writing commentary and interpretations in the margins, I used this space to acknowledge the heaviness of living in survival mode, of living in constant grief and rage, and the despair of facing the enormity of it all.
This poster has been in my little black book of 'Posters To Be Made' since 2018. Every year I spend my pressaversary at the press (to commemorate falling in love with letterpress December 31, 2016). This is the 2021 pressaversary print and the 2023 reprinting
