Água Loves a Monster is part theater, part ritual, part participatory music making. The audience become spectACTORS (theater of the oppressed) and co-create a soundscape to metabolize all the monsters onstage. Sounds cool, right? Well go on, get your tickets!

Also can I shout out my incredibly talented brother ! Collaborating with him on these concept photos was so fun. He’s a photographer, videographer and maker of 3D fractals, amongst many other talents. Give him a follow!

This show is in call and response to theatermakers in occupied territories fearlessly making art and beauty in the face of ge no cide. The monsters are not just out there, they are in us too. Come release them.

Água Loves a Monster cruises the sleeping dream and waking nightmare with lucidity and wobble. This show performs the metabolizing of illness - physical, political, social - by asking “what if the thing that’s hurting the most is starving for love…?”

This show is a love offering to everybody stopping cop city and in the streets for a free Falas+een. It’s a deep desire of mine for yall to take each other on dates to this show 🖤

Last year I wrote a play called Água Loves a Monster and guess what. It was 1 of 14 in-state shows selected to be in the 2024 Atlanta Fringe Festival this Summer!

This show gives an artistic stage to the waking nightmare of social illness but at the intersection of my spiritual practice, dream/death practice, and my journey as a healing artist. It is a ritual container that invokes the collective’s capacity to metabolize our big monsters and work with death as an ally to our wellness. There’s puppets. There’s ritual. There’s co-creation of soundscape. And I’m really proud of it!
