How often should you be weightlifting for strength?

It depends. More than likely I only do weightlifting (clean, jerk, sn**ch, squat, pull etc) twice a week. Even when focusing on strength as a priority it may be three times a week but volume is likely similar.
You don’t need to lift every day to get strong.
Most of my training and most of my competitive client’s training consists of around 75% aerobic work and volume accumulation of gymnastics and CF related patterns.
Learn to move SLOW and perfect MECHANICS.
