Another great Sine Die in the books! As we look back on a landmark legislative session, we are grateful to our partners and clients for trusting us to support and execute on their interests and goals under the Gold Dome. We salute our lawmakers for their tireless work and dedication to representing their constituents. The hours are long and the work is challenging, and we applaud their diligence in creating and protecting the laws that shape our great state.
A shakeup at the U.S. Department of Health and Human services has resulted in thousands of jobs being eliminated, including deep cuts at the CDC. The timing of the cuts comes as the country faces worries over Avian flu and an outbreak of Measles, and strikes close to home as hard working Georgians question why they have been let go. Congratulations to Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens for being honored by Communities In Schools of Atlanta with the Anne Cox Chambers Champion for Kids Award, at its annual Choose Success event. Each year the event celebrates students who have overcome significant obstacles to stay on the path to graduation, and honors community leaders who support metro Atlanta students with the greatest need.
