Faux Wood Tiles: Phase 1 complete.
I'm still not entirely sure what I got myself into when I decided to use plywood patterned floor tutorial on my home office wall, but there is no going back now!
It took 2 weeks for me to cut and nail the tiles to the wall. As usual, I underestimated the work but dang she looks good! And so far it seems to be highly forgiving of my mistakes. Next up:
- spray painting the space between the tiles gold ποΈ
- sanding the wall π
- painting the final color π₯°
Hit that follow button so you don't miss out on the final result!

Well hello there ππΏ.
There are some new faces hanging around this place and I thought we should get to know each other.
My name is Jennifer and I'm an ER nurse with an addiction to DIY. Except I have a bad habit of only finishing 95% of them. There isn't anything I'm not willing to try at least once and show you while I do it. I take on purposeful DIY projects, but make it pretty. Plus we are bougie on budget over here.
5 facts about me:
1. I can't whistle to save my life. Never have.
2. I'm fluent in Spanish but haven't taught it to my kids. Don't come for me.
3. I have a gap in my front teeth. I used to be super self conscious about it. But recently a coworker told me that in Africa, this is a sign of beauty and fertility!
4. I love playing dominoes and spades. I haven't played either in a while but I'm pretty good at them.
5. I've moved 8 times in my life. With another move coming. Hoping the one after that is my last. 10th time is the charm right.
Tell me a little something about yourself in the comments ππΏππΏππΏ

DIY Bed Canopy :early Christmas gift for the little one. She's at a play date now, you think she'll like it when she gets home?
For a few months, my 8 year old has been asking me for a canopy with lighting for her bed. I had bought her a cheap canopy last year that our cats tore to shreds π.
I browsed Amazon, but anything that matched the vision in my head and that wasn't made of the same fabric our cats destroyed was well over $50.
So $10 in sheer curtains and $10 in LED fairy lights + supplies from my hoarder stash ( ceiling curtain rod holders and 2 ft of a wooden dowel) later I think I can claim success!
To get the cheap curtains to sit on both sides, I cut slits on the top few inches to make tabs. I alternated a tab from each curtain when I fed it through the dowel rod. No need to be neat since it all ruched at the top!
