What do real estate closings in Georgia look like now? Well, here is one from Monday. I always try to go to my closings, particularly if it’s a first time home buyer like Marlon, here, to offer some additional advice and clarification as the attorney is going through the closing documents. I protect myself and protect those around me. I wear gloves, and two layers of masks. I do not touch anything while I am there, other than my own belongings. I have hand sanitizer on me and in my vehicle. Right now, there is not a full virtual option, because the Georgia Legislature has to pass this. One can do a Zoom closing where the documents are sent to the borrower prior to and the attorney conducts the closing and then notorizes the signed documents when they are returned. Some attorneys also offer a drive through closing where the borrower stays in their vehicle. Then there is the traditional in office closing, but those are done with additional safety and distancing precautions.
