The Corvid Collection: 3D

Crows with stolen trinkets, needle felted with wool fiber. Each of the found objects - a glass marble, a ring, your spare house key - are protectively grasped in their beaks. They are collectors too, displaying their treasures.

It’s a dark-feathered dynasty, crows in crowns, mounted on luminous gold backers. I needle felted their heads with black wool fiber and sculpted their beaks with clay.

The Corvid Collection: 2D

This series is the first time in Once Again Sam history where I explored one subject (crows & ravens) in one medium (needle felted wool fiber) but in both 2D and 3D.

The crows outside my studio are gossiping about me, I just know it. They’re watching me, I’m watching them, and now they’re immortalized in my work.

I’ll share the 3D side of the collection soon! Till then, enjoy these three beauties framed in gold, ready to ship. The ovals are 8x10, the square is 13x13. 🐦‍⬛

Two more Brasstown-inspired scenes from my new needle felted landscape series.

The oval piece is the view across the field at the John C Campbell Folk School, the panoramic piece was the stunning view from my Air B n B in nearby Murphy. These two views were different every morning, depending on the weather, and I loved how the clouds constantly changed the horizon.

3 in natural basswood, one ebony, one cherry, and one yellow heart. All are under 3” tall and were turned on a big lathe with tiny tools by my husband. 🏺

The colorful glass sprigs are included and were sourced from ReCraft. I love how they pair up with the wood, it’s a modern alternative to flowers! 💐
