The Center’s Preparing Pilgrimages and Pilgrimage Leaders program continues to expand beyond Georgia. Most recently, eleven pilgrims from parishes across Oregon gathered in Eugene for a session hosted by the Episcopal Church in Western Oregon.
As one pilgrim shared, “I came with some skepticism but I left Eugene with such excitement about how this could potentially be so transformative for many pilgrims in the future who would participate in this pilgrimage."
Plans are underway to work with the Diocese of Southwest Florida and other dioceses and parishes church-wide. The Center also continues its work with the Diocese of South Carolina, with four members joining the 2026 Cape Coast, Ghana Pilgrimage to expand their journey in racial healing.

Dignity Awards Winners Spotlight:
Patricia Murray and Amy Cox, representing the Georgia Mountains Convocation and St. Clare’s Episcopal Church in Blairsville, are recognized for their faithful leadership of Sacred Ground, now in its fifth year.
The program has engaged more than 55 participants—nearly the parish’s full average Sunday attendance—and every member of the vestry has participated or is currently participating. Through their leadership, Sacred Ground has shaped a congregation-wide commitment to truth-telling, racial justice, and spiritual formation.
Under their care, the program has expanded beyond parish boundaries, welcoming participants from other Episcopal parishes, Christian traditions, and states. This year’s in*******al group reflects the inclusive, courageous space Pat and Amy cultivate with integrity and skill. In 2025, they also led a pilgrimage to Atlanta, including the Absalom Jones Episcopal Center for Racial Healing, grounding learning in worship and community.
We honor Patricia Murray and Amy Cox for their steady, faithful leadership and their commitment to justice, formation, and human dignity.
