Misti was recently inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Silver Circle for her impact on local broadcasting, including her focus on innovation and commitment to journalistic excellence. Misti's honor follows CMG's 7 NAB Marconi Award nominations, 4 national Edward R. Murrow Awards, 2 Crystal Awards, and 1 Gracie Award. That doesn't include the many regional awards, local honors, and the 10 national awards our Investigative Reporting team won over the last year. And later in September, four of our legendary radio personalities – JoJo O’Neal, Elroy Smith, Lorenzo “Ice Tea” Thomas, and Marc Young – will be inducted into the National Black Radio Hall of Fame.

Another week, another national award for CMG's Investigative Reporting team ... this one from the National Press Foundation. CMG and KFF Health News earned this national recognition for “Social Security’s Secret,” a news special showing how a dozen reporters from across all of CMG’s TV stations and KFF Health News worked together to expose the real-world impacts of the Social Security Administration's (SSA) overpayment clawbacks. It featured personal stories of more than three dozen people to highlight how burdensome the SSA’s clawbacks had become for thousands of benefit recipients. “Social Security’s Secret” aired in all of CMG’s TV markets and on its streaming platforms.
