Happy Birthday to my niece Kyla — my (almost) birthday twin 😄. She has been one of our very first muses and a face inside our Glory book. So proud of the young woman she’s becoming. She finished high school with her cosmetology license already in hand so that she continue her side hustle doing hair while in college at Winthrop University. Next weekend she walks across the stage with her business degree. 23 years ago I was the first in our family to get an undergraduate degree. Kyla is the second. We are so proud of you. The Imagination Booth came to life at Atlanta’s Beautifully Black Children’s Book Fest and it was everything we hoped it would be. Two racks of clothes, a stunning backdrop from , and children who already knew exactly who they were. Watching them see themselves through our lens never gets old.
