q:where are you from?�⁠
a: i am from durham, nc, but i recently spent 11 years in the midwest before moving back to the east coast.�⁠�⁠

q: favorite menu item at little sparrow?�⁠
a: right now, it's the scallops. a great deal of effort goes into making any of our stocks, and the lobster stock and resulting lobster cream on that dish is especially luxurious.⁠

q: what's one thing on your bucket list?�⁠
a: i love scuba diving, and would jump right in at the opportunity to dive with sharks.�⁠⁠�⁠

q: what is your favorite ingredient to work with right now?�⁠
a: i've been drawn to using miso recently. it's endlessly versatile, you can be subtle or expressive and unexpected with it. brown butter and a little miso paste in chocolate chip cookies is unreal.⁠

q: what inspires you?�⁠
a: people who take extraordinary care in their craft with the pursuit of creating something excellent, all to make others happy.
