ecruiting a fully funded doctoral student to join my research group at Lamar University (Lamar University Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering), starting Fall 2026 or Spring 2027!
As an incoming Assistant Professor — and current Postdoctoral Associate at MIT Concrete Sustainability Hub — I'm building a lab at the intersection of AI and ML, life cycle assessment, digital twins, and climate-resilient infrastructure. We work closely with state DOTs, FHWA, and industry partners on problems that matter at scale.
📌 The position is fully funded (tuition waiver + monthly stipend + benefits).
🔬 Research areas include:
• AI- and data-driven infrastructure performance prediction
• LCA & LCCA of transportation infrastructure
• Digital twin systems for infrastructure monitoring
• Climate-resilient design under extreme weather
• Physics-informed & ML-based surrogate modeling
I'm looking for motivated students with backgrounds in civil/environmental engineering, computer science, or related fields. Prior research experience and programming skills (Python, MATLAB) are a plus.
