Happy June! The start of a month (especially a month at the beginning of summer) gets many people thinking about starting or stepping up a fitness routine. If you want to see results, you have to push yourself. A great indicator for how hard youโ€™re working is your heart rate, specifically your Maximal Heart Rate (HRmax). HRmax is the highest number of beats per minute you can achieve at maximal effort. A quick calculation of your HRmax is 208-(0.7 * your age). For most cardio based exercises, you should be in zone 2 of your HRmax which is 76-85% of that number.
