Tension shielding isn’t offloading.
At The Aesthetic Meet last week, Dr. Monte Eaves broke down the difference during his Hot Topics session: active tension offloading redistributes force away from the incision to support healing, while tension shielding alone doesn’t address the underlying mechanical stress in the same way.
That distinction matters when every bit of tension can impact wound healing, scar quality, and patient outcomes.

Hot topics. Innovation and Technology Exchange. An amazing dinner with even better company.
Last week was a full showcase of what happens when the best minds in aesthetics come together — and we are still feeling it.
To every surgeon who took the stage, shared your expertise, and brought the energy: thank you. The hot topics session sparked real conversation, the innovation panel pushed the industry forward, and dinner was legendary.
This is what we built this for. Moments like these remind us why Medtech is not just a field — it’s a movement. And we are proud to be surrounded by the people leading it.
Until next time

The momentum is building.🦵Our team is coming off an exceptional weekend in Tampa at the Hip & Knee IEP Fellows and Young Surgeons’ Conference, where dozens of surgeons stopped by to learn how the BRIJ portfolio is redefining closure and healing through active tension offloading in total joint procedures.
A sincere thank you to Drs. Brett Levine , Ira Kirschenbaum MD, Madhish Patel , and everyone who spent time with us sharing feedback.
We’re excited by the growing energy around smarter closure strategies — and grateful to be pushing the next evolution of healing forward together.💥
