Happy feast day to St. Hildegard of Bingen, my current favorite of the four female doctors of the church! I first learned about St. Hildegard during my Monday night women’s Bible study a few years ago, and she’s been among my favorite saints ever since. The breadth and depth of her knowledge and wisdom, her mysticism, and her theology are inspiring.

What I’m reading, audiobook edition: on the recommendation of a new friend, I checked out CS Lewis’s Till We Have Faces to listen to on my recent roadtrip to Maryland for my 8-day Ignatian retreat. Beautifully written, heartbreaking work! Definitely one that merits a reread in hard copy, too. I’ll be thinking about this one for a long time.
