With Mother’s day a few days away, today and always we honor mothers. To the mothers who arrived in a new country in search of better opportunities for their families. To the mothers who have been separated from their children. A mother’s love knows no borders. Being a mother is an act of love, dedication and resistance. Thank you ❤️‍🔥

📢 TAKE ACTION: Tell Governor Kemp to veto HB 295!

Despite powerful testimony from impacted community, the Georgia legislature pushed HB 295 on 4/02/26 in the final hours of session.

It now heads to Georgia Governor Kemp’s desk where it has 40 days to be signed into law or vetoed.

HB 295 is an anti-homeless bill. It punishes the homeless population for surviving instead of addressing the real crisis: the lack of affordable housing and support.

HB 295 will let property owners and businesses sue cities and towns if they think anti-homeless laws are not being enforced aggressively enough.

That means more pressure on local governments to criminalize homelessness, waste public money on lawsuits, and double down on arrests and jail instead of real solutions.

Advocates fought until the very end and were able to lessen some of the bill’s harm to immigrant communities. But this bill still continues to prioritize targeting sanctuary cities, instead of helping everyday Georgians.
We Call on Governor Kemp to VETO HB 295!

Georgia Bill Tracker Update!

📣 Urgent: Georgia, tell your legislators to OPPOSE HB 963!

HB 963 restricts some immigrant communities from participating in civic engagement efforts, like campaign volunteering and ballot initiatives, while imposing unnecessary administrative burdens on grassroots organizations.

This bill threatens to silence immigrant voices, enable political attacks on nonprofits, and limit meaningful civic participation.

This follows a troubling pattern seen in other states, where similar laws have been used to target nonprofits working on community issues.

🔊Tell YOUR legislators to OPPOSE SB 442!!

SB 442 impacts noncitizens with a commercial driver’s license by forcing them to unnecessarily re qualify after five years or upon visa expiration. Revoking a license cuts off its validity - which can disrupt a person’s access to or required verification in the courts, employment, housing and health care systems.
